I have been wanting to build a sailing ship for quite a while and finally started on it. After deciding I would base it off an actual ship I sat there for a while trying to think of which one I wanted to build. Then it hit me, the Cutty Sark. I had built a model of it as a kid, one of the few models I ever built, and spent a ridiculous amount of time painting it. I don’t think I ever finished making it, so I felt this was a chance to.
I tried to make it as close to scale and accuracy as possible. I could find no photos or information on the interior so I took some liberties, but it’s your standard fare of cannons, ship’s magazine, mess hall, barracks. I will note that each mast has 1 less sail than the actual Cutty Sark. I am also debating on working on it more to try to add more of the rigging but do not want to make it a jumbled mess of fence ‘rope’.
“What’s so special about this ship?” you might ask. Just think of it as the Ferrari of it’s kind. The Cutty Sark was British tea clipper built in 1869. It is one of the last tea clippers to be constructed and also one of the fastest clippers ever to be built. It’s speed can best be understood by an entry a wool clipper crewman made in 1879:
“One day we sighted a vessel, a mere speck on the horizon, astern of us, and the way she came into view it was evident she was travelling much faster than ourselves. ‘Bringing the wind up with her’ was remarked on board, and that seemed the only feasible conclusion to arrive at and account for the manner in which she overhauled us. In a few hours she was alongside us, and proved to be the famous British clipper Cutty Sark, one of the fastest ships afloat. She passed us going two feet to our one, and in a short time was hull down ahead of us.”

So Tumblr was down earlier today and I got bored, I had several Skype people telling me to check out Reddit. I had been on before and looked around but just didn’t get it. So I figured “Hey, I’ll just upload some goofy pic of one of my builds.”
1st post on Reddit, made it to #1 in the Minecraft section. I think I am officially addicted.

Saturday Skeleton just don’t care.
Branberg mountain and Pale Wolf Inn viewed from the town of Hircine. It’s my little Skyrim inspired NPC town (Hircine is the Daedric prince of the hunt in Elder Scrolls). No matter where I work I keep coming back to this area and adding little things. Out of frame to the right is Hircine’s Watch.
I have been wanting to do a lodge on the outskirts for a while. It was originally going to be much smaller and abandoned but once I started working on it I decided to make it part of the city. I made a little gravel path leading to it and dropped all the town protections on it so mobs would spawn in and around it. Set up some sentry NPCs to walking around and beat mobs up.
I have to say this area is in fierce competition with the City Zoo as my favorite thing I’ve made so far.

One of our admins, Kenstructor, did a competition a while back for people to build ‘defenses’, so I got the idea for this big-ass cannon.

A PVP Aztec Pyramid area I have been working on. Jump pads on either side of it launch you up to top and plates at top release water down stairs on all sides to slow attackers running up. A maze of tight passage ways lies underneath it.
